Tai Chi Class

NEW!
FALLS-PREVENTION
TAI CHI

A FREE beginner-level Fall-Prevention Tai Chi Class led by Jenn Grant, certified Tai Chi Vermont Instructor, will be held at the Waitsfield Church, Tuesdays at 10 am, May 21 thru August 6.  Since classes build on each other, we will ask participants to start with the first class and try to attend weekly. Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothes for the classes.

Often described as “Meditation in Motion,” Falls-Prevention Tai Chi includes a variety of movements and forms that work on fall-prevention strategies like weight transference, mindfulness, and balance.  It is a low-impact program proven to reduce falls and arthritis pain; increase muscular strength; and decrease depression, anxiety, and osteoporosis.  The sessions include a gentle range of movements that are suitable for every fitness level and ability.  These enjoyable and motivational classes may be taken either standing or sitting in a chair.

AmeriCorps Seniors and the Central Vermont Council on Aging are excited to partner with the Waitsfield Church and Village Meeting House to offer this wellness class.  Register online (click the button above) or by contacting Anne Greshin (agreshin@cvcoa.org, or calling

802-241-4840).  Class size will be limited to the first 15 people who register.
